Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

This fragment preserves a description of a local festival including athletic contests (Cammarosano 2014: 157). My proposal (ibidem) to consider this an indirect join of KUB 25.23+ is, however, to be rejected (Cammarosano 2018: 358).

Palaeography and orthography: late QA (l. 10′, 12′).

1′: The form is best interpreted as pl.3 with nasal reduction.

6′: Cf. KUB 44.20 8′.

11′ For this formula, which may be typical of the region of Ḫakmiš, see Cammarosano 2018: 40.
